We crossed into New Mexico and our first sto
p was Carlsbad Caverns. The entrance fee and the self guided tour was covered with our National Parks pass. This cavern system was huge. The Natural Bridge Cavern was more intense so I liked the experience more and it was less commercialized so I found it prettier. This cavern put the size of Natural Bridge to shame. The rooms were so big and seemed to go one forever. They were also
really tall and had pits named the bottomless pit! One of the rooms, the Big Room was 600,000 square feet and equivalent to seventeen football fields. There were also formations everywhere you looked. It took abou
t an hour and a half to get through the self guided tour. It was something neat to see and we would recommend it, but beware there will probably be screaming kids.

Carlsbad Rocks
You are very brave. I could never go into the earth, never. At least you were nice and cool from your pinnacle, to the bottoms...
