Burgess Falls, TN

If you are ever near this area, you should go the Burgess Falls State Park. Within a 1.5 mile hike there are three main waterfalls on a river correctly named, Falling Water River, The first which is beautiful is the smallest at 20 ft. Soon you are passing a 30 ft. waterfall. After an uphill climb looking over bluffs you are looking at a 130 ft waterfall that makes you forget about the first two. There is a steep trail with a bunch of stairs that leads you to the bottom of the falls, so your first view is the awe inspiring top down. Then you can walk beside the falls where you see a steady rainbow. Then at the bottom mist from the falls lightly sprays you as you walk on the rocks to the river bed. This is where we chose to eat our lunch and it was so nice. The most amazing part, in my opinion, were the bluffs. The walls all around the canyon dwarfed the waterfall and I couldn't help but to wonder about the time before people and that this river was here then and is still flowing today. There were birds playing, all in all it was a happy place. Brad said, " I can see why the Indians wanted to chill here." and I agree.
