Welcome to the West Coast

The first wildlife we saw in California was a Kit Fox. It was really tiny and had a black tipped tail. Then we say one of those silly birds that looks like it is wearing a showgirl hat. It seemed to dance around for a moment before being startled and doing a 180 to briskly waddle away. As we were first introduced to the California southern mountains the sun was setting behind them. The sky changed to the most awesomely bright hue of yellow. From this the sky was an array of sunset yellows, oranges, and purples. It was a really lovely way to enter California.
