Cypress Swamp

If you are ever on the Natchez this is the coolest stop in my opinion. Here we saw huge water spiders, lizards, birds, a huge alligator, and a group of turtles. The trees are so awesome and the pictures just don't do them justice. Seeing the alligator was a bit creepy I must admit. I was scared he was going to change his course and eat me, Brad is faster, so I think I would have been dinner. But we think he was more scared of us then we were of him. The stillness of the swamp is pretty magical. we heard frogs but they were too quick, we never saw one. Every once in a while there would be a large plop in the water and we would turn just in time to see the water ripple. So, we could only wonder what had just jumped in. The turtles were my favorite part. Brad spotted them and I rushed to see, which was unnecessary because we stood there watching for the next few minutes and they didn't so much as move, until the smallest one slowly lifted his foot and jumped in, and by jumped I mean that he ever so slowly leaned over and in he went. There were five turtles on this one log and I loved it. Considering the swamp was green I couldn't help but the think they must be Ninja Turtles.
